Slot-based spherical geometry from laser-cut sheet metal
ORB looks at how a sphere can be made out of simple flat parts. Where and how the slots are cut decides how the strips curve, fit, and hold up structurally.
Slot Geometry
The strips are laser-cut from flat sheet metal, slotted together, and spot-welded where they cross. The sphere comes out of the slot pattern itself: position, angle, and density of each slot decide the final shape.
Design and Fabrication
The strips are laser-cut flat and can be made in different materials and finishes. Every version comes from the same underlying geometry.
