PIFA is a joint project by VektorNode, ERNE Holzbau AG, and Carl Meier Sohn AG. VektorNode developed the facade design and prepared the geometry for digital fabrication.
Based on the design, the required data for laser cutting, robotic forming, and assembly were generated and delivered to the project partners. The ventilated facade consists of individually curved metal pixels that were robotically formed.
Additionally, a custom transportation workflow was developed using 3D-printed parts as protective and positioning elements during transport.
The project demonstrates the direct transfer of a parametric facade design into industrial production.
